VSP processing
- Standard RIG-SOURCE and OFFSET VSP with vertical or three components processing,
- Acoustic log calibration using the velocity information and synthetic seismogram using acoustic and density logs.
The problems that can be solved with VSP surveys refers to:
- Establish an absolute depth tie between surface seismic data and subsurface geological markers
- Predict the distance to reflectors below the current total depth of a well
- Resolve subtle structural and stratigraphic features such as faulting and traps witch are smaller than what can be defined with the bandwidth of surface seismic data
- Identify multiple reflections present in surface seismic data
- Improve poor data areas such as in subsalt imaging
- Calibrate seismic reflectivity coefficients derived from well log data
- Calibrate sonic log derived synthetic seismograms to a check-shot type response and bandwidths to convert well log data into the time domain
- Provides seismic data processing parameters such as amplitude decay functions, deconvolution operators, velocities for migration and depth conversion
